Agra

Ninety-five miles south of New Delhi (only one hour away by air), Agra is noted for the famous Taj Mahal, the setting for the world's greatest testament of an emperor's love for his queen. The seventeenth-century ruler, Shah Jahar, built the Taj Mahal as a tomb for his late wife. They're both buries in the beautiful and ethereal building. Also in Agra is a complex of mosques, palaces, and an exquisite mausoleum called Fatehpur Sikri.
