In order to obtain a visa to Eritrea applicants should provide the following:

Tourist visa

1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page.
2. 1 passport-type photograph.
3. 1 filled out visa application form
4. Printed and filled out order form.
5. Copy of round trip airline ticket or itinerary.

Business visa

1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page.
2. 1 passport-type photograph.
3. 1 filled out visa application form
4. Printed and filled out order form.
5. Copy of round trip airline ticket or itinerary.
6. A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Eritrea, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.
The letter must explain:
• Nature of business to be performed;
• Name and address of reference to be visited;
• Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.
• The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

Fees and proccessing time

Fee: US$ 80. Processing time: 3-5 days.

Additional information

The visa issued is valid for multple entries for three months from the date of issue for a stay in Eritrea of up to 30 days.
