Visa to Gambia: Tourist Visa, Business Visa

In order to obtain a visa to Gambia applicants should provide the following:

Tourist visa

  1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page.
  2. 2 passport-type photographs.
  3. 1 filled out visa application form
  4. Printed and filled out order form.
  5. Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary, or letter from travel agent.

Business visa

  1. Valid, signed U.S. passport. Must be valid for at least 6 months after departing and contain at least one blank visa page.
  2. 2 passport-type photographs.
  3. 1 filled out visa application form
  4. Printed and filled out order form.
  5. Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary, or letter from travel agent.
  6. A business letter of responsibility is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Gambia, Visa Section, Washington, D.C.
  7. The letter must explain:
    • Nature of business to be performed;
    • Name and address of reference to be visited;
    • Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.
    • The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

US$155 - 3 days processing. US$215 - 1 day processing.

Additional information

Tourist or business visa is usually valid for three months from date issued, for a stay not to exceed 90 days. Experts traveling to the Gambia to take up employment with the Government or other institutions must apply first for an entry permit to The Director of Immigration, Oau Boulevard, Banjul, The Gambia. A copy of the permit should accompany the visa application. Canadian residents may apply for visa through Washington D.C. Payment should be made by money order in U.S. Funds.
