Travel Itinerary
What is a travel itinerary?
- A travel itinerary is a print out of the travel plans obtained either from the airline or the travel agent who books the trip (faxes and photocopies are acceptable).
- When booking online, the confirmation email or the printed confirmation page that shows the applicant's name and when the applicant departs can be used as the itinerary.
How to get a travel itinerary before travel plans are finalized?
- Contact a travel agent via phone and inquire about flights for your travel date.
- Have the agent "hold" a reservation while you verify the exact departure need.
- Ask the agent to fax the flight itinerary to you; this is your travel itinerary.
- A "hold" usually keeps your reservation for 24 hours and you are not charged for the ticket if you do not call back to confirm.
