On the observation deck of the TV Tower, the highest structure in Central Asia, you'll enjoy magnificent views of Tashkent. Construction of this impressive tower began in 1978 and was completed in 1981. The tower, which uses a vertical cantilever structure of manufactured steel, is 375 meters in height and can withstand earthquakes of a seismic magnitude of 9 on the Richter scale.
The primary purpose of the tower is to provide radio and TV transmission for Tashkent, reaching to the farthest points of Tashkent Province and the southern regions of Kazakhstan. The tower is also used as a complex hydro meteorological station and for communication between governmental organizations of Central Asia.
After taking in the sights from the observation tower, visitors to this popular tourist attraction can dine in either of two rooms within the Koinot Restaurant ("The Space") which rotates once per hour to enable patrons incredible views of the Central Asian city of Tashkent.
