Kukeldash Madrasah - Tashkent, Uzbekistan
One of the few remaining significant architectural monuments of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, Kukeldash Madrassah was built in the second half of the 16th century during the reign of Abdullachan (1557-1598) under the leadership of Kulbobo Kukeldash, a vizier, scientist, and poet. Now under the authority of the Religious Board of Mawarannahr Moslems, Madrassah Kukeldash is a regularly acting mosque, with a primary school that teaches the basis of Islam.
