Yunus-khan Mausoleum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Across from the Navoi Literary Museum on the Shayhantaur cemetery, is the mausoleum of Yunus-khan, ruler of Tashkent, who lived from 1415 to 1487. The large T-shaped monument has beautiful arches featuring fragments of ganch girikh (a geometrical ornament), windows decorated with wood and ganch panjara, and mukannas-stalactites (decorative ganch arrangement of cupolas) in the hall. The outer dome hall was reconstructed in 1970.
